Star Arts Photography specializes in helping artists to preserve, enhance, restore and reproduce their two-dimensional artwork.
The same techniques can restore old photographs!
When my wife needed to have accurate and reproducible images of her original artwork (primarily acrylic on canvas or paper), I found that I greatly enjoyed photographing her work and then tweaking the digital images, including cleaning up the inevitable (though slight) degradation that affects an exposed canvas or paper that has been framed for years. I got lots of experience as she has quite a large body of work.
The results were very satisfying and produced digital files that enable the artist to create high quality reproductions on a wide variety of materials and, in a worst case scenario, replace damaged or lost original paintings.
